Beaufort is a patriotic military community, home to three installations and thousands of active duty servicemembers, veterans and military retirees. Now, thanks to the Chamber’s Military Enhancement Committee (MEC), there’s a new online homebase for the region’s military community. The site highlights the armed services’ $2.3 billion economic impact to the region, as well as local bases’ significant contributions national defense and local culture. The new website will grow and evolve over time. It is an important new tool for the Chamber to advocate for our area’s biggest employment pillar and economic driver.
