Legislative Agenda

The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce exists to promote economic prosperity to enhance the well-being of everyone in our region. Like a lighthouse standing sentinel over our coastal waters, the Chamber serves as a beacon of guidance for our business community, illuminating the path toward sustainable growth and prosperity.

Advocating on behalf of the Beaufort Region's employers with state, local and federal governments is essential to our mission. Just as mariners rely on a lighthouse's steady beam to navigate safely through challenging waters, our member businesses depend on the Chamber's advocacy efforts to chart a course through the complex landscape of public policy and regulatory challenges.

The Chamber encourages elected officials to pursue these public policy priorities and will report to its members on outcomes that align with this agenda. Our lighthouse beam cuts through the fog of political uncertainty, providing clear direction and transparency about the issues that matter most to our regional economy.

Public Policy Guiding Principles presented in this document are standing positions that inform the Chamber's advocacy efforts and preferred approach to policymaking. These principles serve as our foundation—the solid bedrock upon which our lighthouse stands—ensuring consistent, principled leadership that businesses can trust and rely upon year after year.

The Public Policy Agenda is updated annually and approved by the Board of Directors, allowing our beacon to adapt to changing economic tides while maintaining its essential function of guiding our business community toward shared prosperity and success.
